Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of variation skills employed by Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers in overcoming students' learning boredom at MA Daarul Ikhlaash Sangatta Utara, to identify the supporting factors, and to analyze the inhibiting factors affecting their implementation. This study employed a qualitative approach with a field research design. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source triangulation. The findings revealed that the implementation of teaching variation skills was carried out through variations in teaching style, the use of instructional media and learning resources, and interaction patterns during the learning process. Teachers combined voice intonation, body movements, eye contact, audiovisual media, group discussions, presentations, and demonstrations to create a more active, engaging, and enjoyable learning environment, thereby reducing students' learning boredom. The supporting factors included teachers' pedagogical competence and creativity, the availability of learning facilities and infrastructure, students' learning motivation, and support from the school. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors consisted of differences in students' characteristics, limited instructional time, limited learning media, and less conducive classroom conditions. Therefore, the implementation of teaching variation skills by Islamic Religious Education teachers has been effective in increasing students' attention, motivation, and participation, resulting in a more meaningful, enjoyable, and effective learning process.
