This study aims to describe the historical background of the presence of the GPI Papua Elim Bomberay Klasis Hiren Kokah Congregation and identify the factors that affect the dynamics of church service in the midst of the life of the oil palm plantation worker community. The research uses historical methods with a qualitative-descriptive approach. Data was obtained through documentation studies, in-depth interviews with church founders, pastors, assemblies, and congregations, and field observations. Data analysis is carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study show that the presence of the GPI Papua Elim Bomberay Congregation began with a transmigration program carried out in 1996 in the Bomberay area, Fakfak Regency. The need for faith formation encouraged Christian transmigrants to form simple fellowships that later developed into independent congregations within the scope of GPI Papua. The development of the oil palm plantation industry also affects the growth of the congregation as well as presents various ministry challenges. Factors that affect the dynamics of church services include the dense work rhythm of plantation workers, wide and scattered geographical conditions, socio-cultural diversity of the congregation, and economic pressure of working families. To answer these challenges, the church develops contextual ministry through the opening of service posts, pastoral visits, family worship, and faith building tailored to the needs of the congregation. This study concludes that the GPI Papua Elim Bomberay Congregation is an example of a contextual church that is able to grow and adapt in the midst of social changes due to transmigration and the development of the plantation industry. The church functions not only as a religious institution, but also as a means of faith strengthening, social unity, and relevant service to the plantation community.
