The Testimony of Women In Hadith Literature
Keywords:
Testimony, Women, HadithAbstract
This study aims to explain the concept of female testimony in hadith and examine the concept of female testimony in hadith. This study is qualitative in nature. The research design is a literature review. The results of this study show that, first, the restrictions on female testimony in hadith cannot be separated from the social reality and structure of early Islamic Arab society, which placed women in a different sphere of activity from men. Second, the conclusion of the study confirms that women's testimony in hadith is more contextual than normative-absolute. Thus, the authority of hadith as bayān al-Qur'ān is maintained, but its implementation requires an interpretation that takes into account social change, women's public roles, and the principle of substantive justice in Islamic law.
