Analisis Gejala Deindustrialisasi Dini dan Dampaknya terhadap Penyerapan Tenaga Kerja Sektor Manufaktur di Kabupaten Sidoarjo Tahun 2015–2024

The purpose of this study is to evaluate the symptoms of early deindustrialization and its effect on labor absorption in the manufacturing sector in Sidoarjo Regency during the period 2015 to 2024. Sidoarjo Regency, which is one of the industrial centers in East Java, is facing signs of a weakening manufacturing sector, as seen from the sector's reduced contribution to the local economy and its declining ability to absorb labor. The method used in this study is a descriptive quantitative approach by utilizing secondary data from the Central Statistics Agency and other official sources. This analysis focuses on changes in the contribution of the manufacturing sector to the Gross Regional Domestic Product, the number of workers in the manufacturing sector, as well as shifts in the economic structure of the region. The findings of the study show signs of early deindustrialization, which can be seen from the slow absorption of labor in the manufacturing sector even though industrial activities are still ongoing. This situation is influenced by technological advances, automation in the production process, increased capital-oriented productivity, and the shift of labor to the service sector. Therefore, there is a need for policies that support the strengthening of the manufacturing industry sector, improving the quality of human resources, and developing investments that can create new jobs.
